Experience and Development iDVR International is one of North Americas leading providers of digital video security products. Founded in 1990, the company was originally established to assist customers with their surveillance and security needs. With subsequent advancements in technology, however, iDVR began evaluating alternative security solutions, finding a niche in the production and distribution of digital video management systems.
By early 2000, as digital video solutions were becoming more economically feasible, iDVR had earned a reputation as one of the most flexible and technologically innovative companies in the video security industry. Within a four-year period, the demand for their product had sky-rocketed. The explosive growth of the company required the opening of new distribution and warehousing facilities and the rapid expansion of the iDVR engineering and development team.
By 2004, iDVR had taken conventional security solutions to the next level. Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, they had established a network of dealers across North America through which they could distribute competitively priced, state-of-the-art DVMS systems and cutting-edge data management solutions.
Quality Products and Services Today, iDVR International is an ISO 9001/2000 certified company with a complete line of UL/ULC listed products. Their systems can be found in hundreds of locations across North America and have been chosen for such major applications as the Seattle Space Needle, Ellsworth Air Force Base, Tim Hortons, and Pizza Pizza. While their DVMS systems are arguably among the most sophisticated in the world, it is their ability to integrate with other peripheral systems that distinguishes the iDVR product line from others on the market. The powerful searching, graphing, and discrepancy-reporting capabilities of their proprietary software offers customers a wide range of integrated security solutions including:
With the expertise demonstrated by their development team, iDVR remains at the pioneering forefront of the video security industry. Their strength is rooted in the drive to attain an unsurpassed level of customer satisfaction. This commitment is evidenced by a highly trained technical support team that is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, each month iDVR offers their clients a two-day training seminar which, if successfully passed, allows them to become authorized iDVR dealers.
The i product is powerful, flexible, and highly innovative. Using industry specific knowledge and technological expertise, iDVR continues to be at the technological forefront of the security industry, offering the most cost-effective, integrated security solutions on the market.

iDVR Internationals proprietary technology uses sophisticated video compression techniques and large capacity, relatively inexpensive hard drives to store and rapidly retrieve compressed video images. Our technology platforms presently include data management software, license plate recognition software, and human/object recognition and tracking software.
The data management software, PAC DM (POS, ATM, and Card Access Data Management), is a unique software solution that allows users to easily keep track of inventory, investigate suspicious transactions, and conduct thorough trend analyses. The software enables raw data from devices such as cash registers, ATMs, card access machines, and others to be overlaid onto a video image.
This data is then populated into a usable database which can be accessed remotely via LAN or WAN. By storing these images in their millions and associating each frame with event information in text format, the technology searches for events of interest and thus quickly and cost efficiently recovers the associated images of the surveillance camera we are viewing at the time of the event.
A second proprietary technology, our human/object recognition and tracking software, helps users monitor and protect high pedestrian areas. This intelligent software solution recognizes what human beings looks like in comparison to inanimate objects. Suspicious human actions such as entering into restricted zones, changing directions, or loitering are instantly recognized and reported.
While most human/object detection and tracking systems perform well in static environments, they fail to compensate for situations where there is a sudden change in light, or where there are objects such as tree branches and leaves moving and shaking in the background. iDVRs proprietary human/object detection and tracking technology, however, has the unique ability to deal with exactly these kinds of environmental challenges. Through false object detection, the system learns what should be considered a false alarm, making it significantly more stable and robust.
Finally, license plate recognition (LPR) software is an image-processing technology that is used to immediately identify vehicles by their license plates. Most LPR software currently on the market recognizes a license plate only after the vehicle passes through a pre-defined alarm zone. Once the vehicle triggers the alarm, the plate information is extracted or is manually removed from the picture.
Unlike these other types of LPR software, iDVRs proprietary technology works on conventional cameras, capturing the plate in real time and with minimal latency. While other LPR technology informs the camera when to take the picture utilizing alarm triggers, iDVRs technology isolates the best possible frame within that second, then grabs the picture in real time format and extracts the information needed from the picture.
iDVR took top honors at CANASA this year when it walked away with two of six Dealer's Choice Awards. The awards, based on selection by a panel of industry experts, are designed to acknowledge the best new products in the industry. To select winners, experts from different areas of the industry are asked to vote on products in up to six categories. iDVR received awards in both the Specialty Products and CCTV Products categories. Vy Hoang, iDVR's Executive Vice President of Sales, gave the winning presentations on our PAC DM Software solution and i3 SRXE-48032 ARM. Each fifteen minute presentation was followed by a five minute question-and-answer period in which he fielded questions on the features and benefits of our products.
According to Vy, competition in these two categories was exceptional this year. Although the Canadian security market is considerably smaller that that of the United States, its potential for growth is enormous. Our edge, he argues, lies in the speed with which our security technology continues to advance. That is why recognition at these awards is particularly meaningful. These awards come directly from Canadian Dealers and their Association, says Vy. We respect their opinion and hope their endorsement will help our product become widely accepted in the international and Canadian market'.
iDVR is proud to accept this honor and grateful to the dealers who chose to acknowledge our entries among the numerous other quality competitors. As the recipient of two awards, iDVR will receive significant media exposure including personal recognition in SP&T, Canada 's leading publication in the security industry.
