ZENON has undertaken many design-build projects for a diverse range of companies in Canada, the US and abroad. With this contractual arrangement, the customer has a single source of responsibility for the entire project including overall plant design, construction, system start-up, commissioning, and operator training.

ZENON has the resources to undertake design-build responsibilities from project inception to an on-line water treatment plant. With over 20 years of experience, ZENON is well qualified to undertake complete design and construction of water and wastewater treatment plants.

  • Drinking Water Treatment

ZENON is the commercial pioneer of immersed hollow fiber ultrafiltration membrane technology for drinking water treatment. In 1990, we developed the ZeeWeed low-pressure membrane which created a paradigm shift in the industry. The membrane's use of gentle suction rather than applied pressure to filter water was very significant in making the technology reliable and cost-effective for drinking water treatment.

  • Industrial Process Water Treatment

As a leading supplier of industrial process water treatment systems, ZENON has the experience to tackle any project, from small-scale laboratory water purification units to large-scale industrial boiler feedwater applications. Whatever the size, we deliver the most cost-effective, reliable and regulatory compliant systems.

  • Municipal Water Treatment

Trust and reliability are why communities around the world are selecting ZeeWeed immersed membrane ultrafiltration products for municipal water treatment. ZENON first introduced low-pressure membrane technology in 1990 and the first major drinking water plant was commissioned in 1996 in Rothesay, New Brunswick, Canada. The technology has evolved a great deal since it was introduced; Today ZeeWeed ultrafiltration membranes are cost-effective and proven for virtually any potable water treatment application, of any size.

  • Wastewater Treatment

ZENON brings over 25 years of experience to membrane bioreactor (MBR) systems, for industrial, municipal, land development and marine wastewater treatment. As a pioneering company of membrane bioreactor technology, we offer what no other vendor can: trusted and experienced wastewater process teams, a successful track record in small-, medium- and large-scale membrane bioreactor (MBR) projects, and a company philosophy that is completely focused on developing the world's best membrane bioreactor technology.

  • Water Recycling

Global water resources are facing unprecedented pressures from growing populations, industries and agriculture. In an increasing number of regions around the world, water recycling using ultrafiltration membranes and membrane bioreactor technology is providing a sustainable source of new water. Ultrafiltration and membrane bioreactor technology can treat wastewater to such a high standard that it can be safely utilized for any non-potable application such as irrigation, industrial process water or groundwater recharge.

Products

  • Abmet

ABMet - Advanced Biological Metals Removal Process

Industries and municipalities are under increasing pressure from water quality regulators to clean up dissolved metals, nitrate and other inorganic contaminants. Waste streams and water bodies with even trace amounts of certain inorganic compounds are attracting more and more attention of the public and of government agencies. Conventional precipitation, ion exchange and absorption methods for metals removal often have difficulty in consistently treating certain compounds to the low levels being enforced by state and federal regulators. That is why environmental and water resource managers are looking for better, more cost-effective alternatives to conventional water treatment for metals and other inorganics. The ZENON ABMet system is built around an advanced biological wastewater treatment process that uses naturally occurring non-toxic, non-pathogenic microbes in specially developed mixtures, which reduce and precipitate target compounds from solution, or convert target compounds into their insoluble chemical components.

  • Adrowpu

Advanced Double Pass Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (ADROWPU)

The ADROWPU is a transportable double-pass reverse osmosis water purification system, capable of producing drinking water from virtually any water source in any climate. The ADROWPU is capable of converting 5000 L/hr (1321 gph) from a source of brackish water into drinking water in single-pass mode and 2400 L/hr (634 gph) of seawater into drinking water in double-pass mode.

  • Homespring Central Water Filtration System

The Homespring Central Water Filtration System, designed and manufactured by ZENON Environmental Inc., enables the homeowner to obtain safer, better tasting water from every tap in the entire house by filtering water at the point of entry. In addition to providing an effective barrier to bacteria, parasites and viruses (please see certification and testing data for more information), this self-contained water treatment system, will distribute refreshing, crystal clear water to every tap in the home.

  • Mini-rowpu

The ZENON Mini-ROWPU is a modular manually transportable water purification unit capable of processing fresh, brackish and seawater into drinking water. Designed originally as a military requirement for a rapidly-mobilized emergency response water purification system, the Mini-ROWPU can produce drinking water at rates of up to eight liters per minute, which meets the potability requirements specified by NATO STANAG 2136 and the World Health Organization. The Mini-ROWPU can process water supplies with extremely high concentrations of suspended solids without the need for multiple filtration stages, process chemicals or labour-intensive cleaning.

  • Mobile Water Treatment Systems

ZENON offers a complete line of containerized mobile membrane plants that provide quick and reliable water and wastewater treatment solutions. Incorporating simple-to-operate ultrafiltration (UF) or reverse osmosis (RO) technology, the systems are easily transportable and consistently produce high quality water that meets the world's most stringent requirements.

  • Package Water And Wastewater Treatment Plants

ZENON offers a broad line of package membrane based water and wastewater treatment plants that are ideal for flows from 100 gallons per day to 5 million gallons per day. The simple and efficient design produces safe, reliable product water while significantly reducing capital and operating costs.

  • Permaflow Ultrafiltration Membranes

A cross flow ultrafiltration membrane that is ideal for high strength oily wastewaters, high concentration biomasss separation process, and high suspended solids concentration applications such as metal hydroxide separation and concentration processes.

  • Reverse Osmosis Systems

ZENON reverse osmosis systems are typically used whenever salt removal or deionization is required. Reverse osmosis removes more than 97%-99% of the total dissolved solids along with organics, bacteria and other particulates. ZENON is capable of designing, manufacturing and delivering reverse osmosis systems of any scale.

  • Zeeweed 1000 Ultrafiltration Membrane

ZENON ZeeWeed 1000 Membrane Filter Media sets the standard in water ultrafiltration with versatile, cost-effective performance for water treatment, seawater pretreatment for RO desalination, and tertiary treatment of secondary effluent. ZeeWeed 1000 provides a physical barrier against suspended particles, bacteria, viruses and pathogens such as giardia and cryptosporidium (> 4 log removal). Existing plants can be cost-effectively upgraded by replacing conventional granular filter media with ZeeWeed 1000 membranes.

  • Zeeweed 500 Reinforced Membrane

ZeeWeed 500 incorporates rugged, reinforced hollow fiber membranes and features a proven track record of outstanding performance in difficult-to-treat water sources such as municipal or industrial wastewater membrane bioreactor (MBR), enhanced coagulation, and high turbidity water. The ZeeWeed 500 eliminates the need to use clarifiers or granular filter media for water and wastewater treatment, thereby significantly reducing the size of a plant, while substantially increasing performance.

  • Zeeweed Membrane Bioreactor
  • Zeeweed Tertiary Ultrafiltration Systems

ZeeWeed Tertiary Ultrafiltration (UF) Systems are designed to operate downstream of a conventional activated sludge process, where no further biological treatment is necessary, but where high quality water is required. The system features a small footprint that can be placed virtually anywhere or can even be used to retrofit existing granular filter media.
