Since 1996, experts from XST have been participating in the development of one of the most sophisticated marine traffic systems in the world ('INNAV'), currently used by the Canadian Coast Guard.
XST has been in charge of the maintenance and evolution of the Microsoft Windows front end as well as the Microsoft SQL Server databases which, with the help of satellite systems, are replicated across 15 eastern control centers with remarkable speed, accuracy and complexity.
The INNAV system provides a wide range of real-time data on marine transport from the Great Lakes to Hudson's Bay, through the St-Lawrence River, the Maritimes and the Atlantic Ocean. INNAV allows to monitor a vessel's travel plans data, historical transit information and to predict estimated times of arrival at key points. INNAV also offers additional traffic data information such as navigation aids, travel advisories in effect, waterway navigability, electronic maps, agents, complete grid data and tide tables. The system is also a window to real-time data provided by radars, AIS, weather prediction systems, water level sensors, wind sensors and tide sensors.
