WORK HARDENING PROGRAMS are designed to provide progressive challenges to individuals to facilitate improvement in their ability to tolerate normal physical routines such as work. Actual work routines are utilized to train clients in appropriate personal work styles and develop effective strategies to ensure optimal performance on the job. When possible, programs are developed on site at the work place - with the assistance/cooperation of the employer. In this way, secondary complications associated with obvious loss time from work can be avoided and the process of rehabilitation expedited.
