Originally formed in early 1968, Versatech Products Inc. has pioneered much of the technology seen in oil spill response products offered to the world-wide market today. Versatech is one of the largest and most diversified spill response equipment manufacturers in North America and markets its products throughout the world through a network of sales representatives and agents. Versatech's state-of-the-art products can be found in many ports around the world.
Versatech manufactures eight standard types of containment booms, deployment and storage systems for containment booms, oil skimmers, and SeaLander landing craft workboats. Our team of experienced engineers and designers often design and produce custom equipment to meet specific or unusual needs that cannot be satisfied with off-the-shelf equipment.
Versatech spill containment booms feature advanced containment capability and exceptional reliability to handle a wide range of spill volumes, sea conditions, currents and locations. Booms manufactured by Versatech have been solving a wide range of both conventional and unusual containment problems for many years including permanent protection of risk-prone areas (tanker terminals, plant outfalls, etc.) and protection of wildlife reserves and other ecologically sensitive areas.
Versatech is one of the longest established companies of its kind in the world and a leader in oil spill containment technology.
Environmental Profile
Versatech's in-house design, testing and manufacturing capabilities enable the company to provide both standard products and customised equipment for those situations where no standard product will suffice. The highly experienced and innovative personnel at Versatech are available to assist clients in evaluating their specific needs and providing complete solutions to meet those needs.
Versatech's attention to detail, modern manufacturing techniques and stringent quality controls ensure the highest possible quality and performance. This translates directly into the lowest possible cost over the life of the product. When one also factors in the potential cost and environmental damage associated with equipment failure in an emergency, it becomes increasingly clear that the unmatched durability and performance of Versatech equipment offers both superior value and the greatest insurance against environmental damage.

Zooom Boom self inflating oil containment boom
Our silt curtains provide a rugged and reliable silt containment system ideal for dredging operations. A variety of sizes and fabrics are available.
Versatech offers a superior meltblown polypropylene sorbent that absorbs 20 to 30 times it's own weight in spilled oil and many industrial chemicals. We offer a variety of options including pads, socks and booms.
The Versatech HeliPak is a patented boom deployment device which may be carried to a spill site suspended from a helicopter by a single suspension line. When set on the water, boom deployment becomes automatic without the use of any trip lines or potentially unreliable radio-controlled actuators.
With a lockable deployment door and a removable lid, the HeliPak deployment vessel is also suitable for secure storage of the boom when not in use. This ensures the boom is always in a deployment-ready condition for emergency use.
The HeliPak contains a compacted length of Versatech self-inflating Zooom Booom(TM) (other booms may also be used) equipped with a sea anchor attached to each end. Once on site, the HeliPak vessel is set down and contact with the water causes a pair of internal floats to automatically release the deployment door and the forward set of lifting bridles. The forward sea anchor drops into the water and the helicopter is now attached only to the stern of the vessel. The helicopter then pulls the HeliPak along the water surface away from the sea anchor, thus pulling the boom out of the container.
When the boom is fully deployed, the empty HeliPak is lifted by the stern bridle enabling the vessel to be removed from the scene.
