USS Manufacturing Inc. was established in 1984. The complete line of street Light Brackets was purchased from McGraw Edison Limited
The package included the product designs, manufacturing tools, jigs, fixtures, production machinery and engineering drawings.
OWNERS AND MANAGEMENT The company is privately owned. The board of directors and management have extensive experience in the utility business. They also have expertise in engineering, industrial design, marketing and finance.
PLANT AND FACILITIES:
The plant is located in Renfrew, Ontario just north of Ottawa, the new 19, 000 square feet plant was built in 1987, with additional 10, 000 square feet added in 2003.
The production machinery consists of punch presses up to 150 tons, 10 foot shears, 225 ton brake press, automatic band saws, MIG welders, up to 50 foot lathes and a heat treat furnace. The plant is equipped to produce aluminum and steel brackets in quantities over 30, 000 brackets per year plus 5, 000 aluminum poles per year. Our line of decorative aluminum poles and brackets for streetcapes will include in 2003 the capacity to produce fluted tapered poles.
PRODUCTS:
Our primary products are Street Light Brackets and Aluminum Poles. We also produce various types of pole line hardware. Our brackets are manufactured to the American National Standards Institute C136.13 as well as customer standards and Canadian Standards Association specifications. We are certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau for fusion welding of steel and aluminum to CSA Standards W47.1 and W47.2
The product designs have been engineered and tested to American Standards and Canadian Standards. We strictly adhere to the engineering drawings, material specifications and process requirements. We currently have over 200, 000 Street Light Brackets in service across Canada and the United States.
