GLOBE Series - The GLOBE Foundation is responsible for managing the GLOBE Series of international Trade Fairs and Conferences on business and the environment. Targeted to the environment industry, corporate sector and financial community, GLOBE 2000, which will take place in Vancouver March 22-24, 2000, will build upon GLOBE 98 which attracted international participation from over 10, 000 business and government leaders from 75 countries around the Pacific Rim, Europe, Asia and Latin America. The core themes of GLOBE 2000 include:

International Environmental Market Access - To assist Canadian environmental firms in penetrating emerging international markets by providing better market intelligence, access to joint venture partners and export financing. Service areas include:
researching and analyzing international environmental markets;
coordinating environmental trade missions; matching/brokering for buyers and sellers of environmental technology; and organizing workshops and seminars.
Corporate Environmental Strategy - To help corporations realize competitive and productivity gains through the adoption of eco-efficient practices and to help companies understand the implications of international environmental policies and management standards. Services include: researching and analyzing environmental management issues, policies and practices; organizing seminars and workshops; and coordinating issue-based, corporate task forces. Recent projects include: joint publication with the United Nations Environment Program of a report entitled 'Financing Cleaner Production: A Guide for Enterprises and Capital Suppliers'; design of an environmental management strategy for the cement and chemical industries in the city of Dalian, China;
and the creation of the EXCEL partnership - a partnership of corporate executives committed to improving environmental performance while enhancing corporate share value.
Environmental Finance - To assist the flow of capital from the financial community to environmental SMEs by helping lenders and investors understand the structure of environmental markets and by assisting environmental firms develop sound capitalization strategies. Services include: researching environment industry trends and capital sources, organizing Enworkshops and seminars, and investment matching.
