From April 2003 until November 2003, 3 of our international health management consultants are participating in two missions to Tunis and lending their expertise by providing recommendations for Tunisia's health care infrastructure.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Our first consultant has extensive experience in large software and hardware development projects and has participated in several previous missions to Tunisia with the World Bank. As a Health Management Information System Expert, he is reviewing progress made in developing computerized systems in regional hospitals, assisting in resolving bottlenecks as well as developing a detailed action plan to accelerate implementation of the above components.
Our second consultant is well-versed as a clinical engineer in the health care industry. In these missions, his role as a Medical Equipment Technical Expert will entail assessing the need for procurement of medical equipment, assisting the Tunisian Ministry of Health in developing a data base for medical equipment specifications and verifying the functioning of already-procured equipment.
Under the role of Emergency Medical Services Expert, our third consultant brings considerable knowledge of Emergency Services, both as a medical doctor and as a medical school professional. Here, he is reviewing and assessing the progress made in implementing an Emergency Medical Services strategy, developing a detailed action plan and implementation schedule and determining the required investment needs for the Emergency Medical Services infrastructure.
