Corporate History In 1977 SureSpan's founder, Nigel Bester built the company's first bridge with his own hands. He borrowed a power saw and without help constructed a bridge for Bay Forest Products on Kingcome Inlet on the coast of British Columbia. He was paid $1700.
Since that first bridge, SureSpan has built thousands of bridges, particularly in support of resource based industries such as forestry and mining.
Building on their reputation for innovative design, cost effective solutions and dependability, SureSpan diversified into larger projects including highway overpasses and major bridge construction.
