Stantec is a multi-disciplined firm that practices in the engineering of all types of buiding service systems for all types of building structures. We provide consulting engineering design for Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing Fire Protection Sprinkler Systems, Electrical Power, Lighting and Communications design, Civil, Sanitary, Energy and Environmental design as well as Computer Aided Drafting services.

We also provide Field Services for all types of building projects. The company has provided 50 years of continuous service to the institutional and commercial owner/development sectors throughout North America. Over 20, 000 separate commissions of work have been undertaken. Stantec is always prepared to employ specialized engineering services to complement its own engineering experience. We ensure that up-to-date techniques for engineering analysis and calculation are employed.

Stantec maintains membership with Automated Procedures for Engineering Consultants Inc., the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., and with the Illuminating Engineering Society. Computer technology is utilized for design studies and energy-use simulation. Stantec has a nation wide CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) system which includes central networked computers, digitizers and plotters.

Our software programs are all AUTOCAD 2000. Stantec is a publicly traded company under the call name STN on the Toronto Stock Exchange and offers professional advice that is independent of manufacturers, suppliers and contractors.   Multidisciplinary environmental impact assessments allow a site to be assessed for past or future environmental impacts. The firm works closely with the client in researching the past uses of a site, as well as determining the possible effects of any proposed uses or projects. The client's needs, and the parameters of the environmental problem or project are taken into consideration throughout the assessment.

  The assessment may include the use of tools such as GIS, computer simulation and modelling, and statistical analysis. The firm will then develop an approach or master plan tailored to the client's needs and problems and issues outlined. If necessary, communication plans, training and public education programs may also be implemented.
