Shellfish processing Equipment. After years of trials Hugh McCallum of Skyway Industries Inc. in a joint venture with an Australian company a machine has been developed to shuck scallop on a vessel. This scallop machine is capable of 60-shells/ minute. The important thing about this technology is that it is replicating how a human can shuck a scallop. This process is actually producing higher yield on average than a crew of manual Shuckers. The machine is still loaded by hand but is capable of robotic loading. This machine will reduce labor by 2/3rd.
