The company has expertise in several industrial waste applications which allows it to custom design and build a fully integrated solution to meet the clients specifications.
The system (SeproKleen) recirculates the dirty alkaline cleaner at high rates through the membrane module promoting turbulent flow at the membrane surface. The ultrafiltration membrane separates the contaminants by molecular size and hydrophobicity. Dirt particles, metal hydroxides, soluble and insoluble oils, and other colloidal and particulate contaminants are rejected by the membrane and are concentrated in the reject loop. Soluble constituents including the caustic and some organic surfactants pass through the pore structure and are collected on the filtrate side of the membrane. This clean solution is directed to the clean bath or an intermediate holding tank for future reuse.
The SeproKleen system addresses the high cost of alkaline cleaners by recycling the solutions continuously allowing maximum utilization of expensive chemicals. The ceramic membranes used in SeproKleen provide the chemical and thermal compatibilities required to survive in these harsh environments. Utilizing the SeproKleen system reduces expensive cleaner purchases and minimizes the total discharge from the manufacturing plant. Also, in many cases, rework of parts is minimized and surface treatment quality is enhanced thereby adding additional economic benefits for the manufacturer.
The use of caustic solution (NaOH) as a cleaning and degreasing agent in many industries continues to be in demand. A predominant user of mild caustic (1% to 2% soln.) is the food and dairy industry. The caustic solution is usually purged after only a few uses and a fresh charge has to be prepared to ensure that the cleaning procedure is effective. With the ever increasing cost of raw materials industry leaders are searching for technology to reclaim and reuse these materials as often as possible.
In a caustic recovery system (SeproFlow) the solids are removed while the NaOH is allowed to pass through the membrane. The resulting fluid produced by the membrane process can be reused over and over again with a minimum of fresh make up to regenerate the concentration levels required for a new cleaning solution batch. The use of membrane technology in separating caustic wastewater has become an economical recovery process for many firms involved in the food processing industry. Large amounts of wash solutions contaminated with process soil can be treated in such a manner that between 80% and 95% of the stock solution can be reused thus reducing the operating costs significantly. An added benefit that the SeproFlow system offers in this application is that it contributes to a closed loop operation which assists industry conform to today's ever changing environmental regulations.
Available process equipment utilizes cross flow membrane technology to treat the wastewater from textile plants. The system operates in a very economical manner and turns expense into profit. The solids are removed from the waste stream and the resulting water is reused within the plant.
Seprotech can provide the equipment to remove colour, TSS, TDS and BOD. Over 80% of the wastewater can be recovered and reused. This saves the plant from purchasing and dumping thousands of gallons of water per day.
Seprotech is exclusively in the business of designing and manufacturing waste effluent treatment systems which are based on the principles of cross flow membrane filtration. The waste effluent is fully analyzed and results reviewed by Engineering. Treatment train is then designed by experienced engineering staff including the optimal selection of the type of membranes for each specific application and challenges.
High rejection reverse osmosis membranes capable of processing of low level radioactive waste is used in the system. After treatment, there are smaller volumes of radioactive waste to retain and this simplifies waste management. Seprotech has supplied such a system to the Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) for the treatment of low level radioactive liquid waste. All systems and components are engineered and designed to meet applicable standards and codes.
The requirements for high quality process water in manufacturing processes has become more and more demanding with the progress of technology. In an effort to maintain modern equipment and ensure product quality company's are continuously upgrading equipment to supply and reclaim process water for use in production operations.
Seprotech Systems Incorporated can provide a system (SeproPure) to effectively treat any process water problem. The application of membrane technology in this situation will remove all suspended solids including colloidal matter and soluble metal salts. The use of membrane technology, specifically reverse osmosis, in separating and concentrating contaminants has become an economical treatment option for many manufacturing firms. Large amounts of water can be processed in a manner that 70% or more of the water can be reused as process water or safely discharged meeting all environmental regulations. Separation efficiencies range in the 99% and above levels providing process water that increases the life of production equipment, boilers and heat exchangers that are subject to lost performance due to material deposits on their finished surfaces.
SeproFlow Caustic Recovery System SeproFlow addresses the high cost of caustic - CIP effluent by recycling the solutions continuously allowing maximum utilization of expensive chemicals. Large amounts of wash solutions can be treated and reused this minimizing the total discharge from the plant.
SeproKleen Aqueous Cleaner Recycling SeproKleen is used to recover rinse bath solutions and cleaner solutions used in parts manufacturing. The ceramic membranes provide the chemical and thermal compatibilities required to service harsh chemical environment.
SeproPure Water Reclamation and Production SeproPure is an ideal system for small volume production of pure water or recovery of high grade rinse water used in the electronics industry. This system uses reverse osmosis to separate and concentrate contaminants removed from the water

The waste effluent is fully analyzed and results reviewed by Engineering. Treatment train is then designed by experienced engineering staff including the optimal selection of the type of membranes for each specific application and challenges.
The custom designed effluent treatment system will process wastewater removing suspended solids and BOD. Filtrate can then be discharged meeting regulatory limits or returned to plant for reuse.
