Precismeca began operations in 1947 at Sulzbach Germany, initially repairing conveyor idler rolls for the underground coal and potash mines of the Saar region.
Today, the manufacturing program consists of carry, impact, return and garland type conveyor rolls, conveyor idler frames, conveyor pulleys and other conveyor components to a maximum width of 3200 mm (126').
Precismeca Limited began production at Edmonton in 1975, to supply all the initial idler requirements for the Syncrude mining system project including the bucketwheel reclaimers. Production was moved in 1979 to our modern facility in Nisku, Alberta. Several important projects have been supplied from this plant including the 11km overland conveyor at the Obed-March project in Alberta. Precismeca has produced quantities of replacement rolls for such companies as Suncor, Syncrude, Cominco Operations in Saskatchewan and British Columbia, Cape Breton Development Corporation, Smoky River Coal PCS Phosphates in North Carolina, Northwest Resources in Texas and others.
Precismeca is in the forefront of idler technology, design and construction. The primary objective of the company is to supply idlers, idler technology, pulleys and conveyor components as a front-line product.
