The mission of the Quebec Metro High Tech Park is to promote economic growth in the Quebec Region by encouraging installation and development of research centres and laboratories, industries and other concerns interested in high tech development on the territory which was allotted it. Objectives:

• To exploit the potent university and government research base

already established in the region;

• To favour the implantation of laboratories, research centres

and high tech enterprises as well as to encourage the expansion of those already in place;

• To instigate technological transfers from these laboratories

and research centres toward these enterprises;

• To encourage job creation in the fields of research and

production of high tech products;

• To create a synergy effect on a regional scale;
• To contribute to the emergence of new high tech enterprises;
• And to participate in the economic development of the Quebec

Region while at the same time respecting its historical and touristic vocation.

With economic development through the promotion of advanced technology in mind, the Quebec Metro High Tech Park is a driving force in instigating exchanges between industrial, university and governmental resources. The Park works as a catalyst, a point of synergy where organizations develop and contribute to one and other's mutual growth and to the emergence of new partners. Almost 2500 persons - researchers, engineers, technicians, managers and support staff - work in the 97 organizations located in the Quebec Metro High Tech Park.
