Proj: AAC Production Plant Country: Malaysia Contribution:
-Project Description The project involved feasibility study, front-end engineering as well as the application of AAC in pilot construction projects in Malaysia. AAC stands for aerated autoclaved concrete produced in blocks and panels. Its a light building material that allows innovative design features, besides being cost efficiencies. The material has been used in low cost housing, commercial and facility building projects across Europe, the Americas and in Asia. The production process comprises of Sand Grinding Mill, Dosing Scales and Metering Devices, Moulds, Wire Cutting Equipment, Steam Curing Autoclaves, and a made-to-measure material handling system. -My Contribution

Proj: Bagging & Palletizing Lines Country: Singapore Contribution:
-Project Description The mechanical scope involved delivery and installation of 12 complete lines starting from the process outlets of various kinds petrochemical pellets through to storage. The system components included bagging, hot sealing, weighing, metal detection, printing, palletizing, shrink- wrapping, marking and strapping as well as the required placing robot arms and belt conveyors. The main challenge was in having to meet a tight maintenance downtime window (12 days) to replace old lines with new ones. Careful scheduling coupled with fast-tracking made this possible. -My Contribution 1)Appointed project manager and provided close supervision 2)Initiated budget forecast, schedule preparation and improvement iterations 3)Supported short listing and selection of subcontractors 4)Facilitated definition of parameters and fine tuning technical scope of project 5)Participated in regular site review meetings 6)Monitored cost and schedule progress reports 7)Assisted tendering process 8)Coordinated completion of as-built drawings, operations and maintenance manuals 9)Supervised commissioning and start up
Proj: CCPL Dry Mixing Tower Country: Singapore Contribution:
-Project Description:
Design & construction of a gravity-feed dry mixing tower for the production of bulk building material. The scope of delivery included conceptional design, engineering and erection of the complete plant which consisted of a sand dryer, bucket elevator & various other material handling mechanisms, vibratory sieving machine, a precision weighing and dosing system, a rotary batch mixer, fully computerised control room, bagging & palatising facilities and a pneumatic bulk loading outlet. -My Contribution:
clarification and definition of parameters
contractors and professional service providers
communication with all parties involved
compatibility of structural design with the equipment to be housed
authorities through to issue of permits
troubleshooting
cost efficiencies/impacts of alternative design options
WIP
as well as operating and maintenance manuals
Proj: SFI Wood Chipping & Sizing Line Country: Malaysia Contribution:
-Project Description The process was implemented by a forestry / pulp & paper mill, to transform wood remnants into usable material. Randomly shaped remnants are loaded onto a vibratory conveyor then fed into a slant chipper. The chips drop onto an inclined conveyor and are elevated to drop onto a parallel arrangement of diamond roll screens for sizing into fine and coarse, then streamlining onto two flat-bed conveyors. The two fractions are then transported to the pulp mill and to the boiler room (for use as fuel) separately. The project involved a substantial amount of local content in the form of steel structure, electrical installations and labour. The split of responsibilities were amicably negotiated, determined and defined by way of drawing up clear specifications supported by blueprints. Proper interfacing of the local and imported equipment was fully achieved. -My Contribution:
1)Project initiation and definition of parameters 2)Schedule and budget preparation 3)Support of short-listing and cost estimation of local components and installation 4)Contract re-phrasing, negotiation and subsequent administration 5)Regular site inspections, troubleshooting and status reporting 6)Ensure compatibility of equipment with steel structure and other locally produced components 7)Attend to change orders and render expert opinion on cost efficiencies/impacts of alternative design options 8)Provide recommendation on quality and safety issues 9)Evaluate progressive payments 10)Coordinate consultant inspection of WIP 11)Ensure completion of as-built drawings, documentation, as well as operating and maintenance manuals 12)Organize commissioning & start-up.
Proj: Traffic Management & Control Systems Country: Singapore Contribution:
-Program Description The program comprised of three distinct focus areas, namely (a) Linear traffic control (highways); (b) Area traffic management (cities) and (c) Parking guidance systems. Geographical coverage included Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Viet Nam, The Philippines and Thailand. The scope of delivery involved front-end consulting services leading to new product launch in collaboration with BOSCH Telekom, Germany. -My Contributions:
