PENCE Inc. is a Canada-wide protein research and commercialization company. Through the Canadian Government's Network of Centres of Excellence program we have created an innovative network with over 250 researchers from university, hospital and independent research institutes, government and industrial laboratories. Since our inception in 1990, we have contributed over $65 million towards protein research. Our efforts are focused on both discovery and development of proteins, peptides and glycopeptides for applications as products or services for medical, veterinary, bioinformatics and other applications. We provide a link between academia and industry for collaborative research and commercialization of protein technologies.
Our Researchers are leaders in the determination of the molecular structures of proteins by means of X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy, and in the understanding of the function of proteins by means of enzymological, endocrinological, cell biological, and immunological studies, and through use of genetic engineering and chemical synthesis of polypeptides and glycoproteins.
