Westnofa designs and manufactures contract quality hardwood furniture for the guest rooms for the hospitality market (hotels/motels), patient rooms, lounges, and reception areas for the healthcare market (hospitals & nursing homes). The products that we manufacture include casegoods (nitestands, chests, wardrobes, headboards, etc.), seating, both open and fully upholstered styles for guest seating, lobby, and lounge area seating, and tables for dining, meeting room, boardroom, and occasional tables, and resident room furnishings for Univer- sities and Colleges. The company was originally founded in Winnipeg in 1957 and has been exporting actively to the United States market since 1982. Through the Department of External Affairs we have supplied furniture to many of Canada's embassies and consulate offices around the world including; Moscow, London, Paris, Tel Aviv, Australia, Hong Kong. We have also supplied furniture for a 30 condominium housing unit in Saudi Arabia that was part of a joint venture between a Canadian tele- communications company and Saudi Arabia. Currently we export to all mainland states in the U. S. and are looking to the market in Japan to supply north American designed products. Over the years we have won the Design Canada Award of Excellence in 1982 for our Corporate Identity program, Design Canada Award of Excellence in 1984 for the series 400-77 sofa series, the Premier's Award in 1981 for the design of the 1043 stacking chair, the Premier's Award in 1984 for the design of the Quiescence patient seating series, the Premier's Award in 1985 for the design of the Support Group seating series. We are a member of AWMAC (Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada) and AWI (Architectural Woodwork Institute).
