Established in 1949, National Neon offers custom design, fabrication and broad range of installation and service for large format illuminated signs. Our products include all types of fluorescent back-lit (fascia and pylons) using rigid plastic or flex faces, neon cabinet signs with animation options, exposed neon channel letters, letteredge individual letters, illuminated canopies, non-illuminated cut vinyl plastic signs and both drive-thru and interior food menu systems. We provide a full package solution to satisfy all your sign requirement.
National Neon's fabrication operations are located in a 13, 000 square foot plant in Lethbridge Alberta and a 5, 600 square foot design, sales and service facility serves as a base for Calgary operations. Lethbridge installation and service is provided using a two ton (45'boom) truck, a three ton (85' boom) truck, a 35' telelift service van and a one ton flat-truck. In Calgary we have a three ton (65' boom) truck, a 35' telelift service van and a one ton flat-deck truck. Two 20' flat-decked trailers handle transportation of completed signs from Lethbridge to Calgary or to site.
National Neon's illuminated products are CSA certified (CSA qualified fabricator since (1958). We fabricate satincoat sheet metal cabinets with aluminum extrusion face frame systems. These metal cabinets result in hight quality economical fascia signs. Our fabricators also construct neo cabinets using lock-formed sheet metal to produce a variety of custom shapes and raceways. Our products include aluminum sign systems using Sign Pro and Signcomp extrusions. The Company maintains neon unit manufacturing capability in both Lethbridge and Calgary.
The company operates a 6'x 10'Precix CNC router system to manufacture routed signs and components used in other sign fabrication.
Plant paint facilities include a spray booth and use the AKZO infermix Paint System and Grip Flex (plastic) and Grip Ease (metal) paints. This system provides high quality paint finishes and enables us to formulate matches to a broad spectrum of pantone colours.
The Company employs thirty full time staff with roughly two-thirds located at the head office and plant in Lethbridge. Our staff delivers products and services using a team approach that ensures our customers requirements are met. Experienced fabricators (12 years plus average) are responsible for all aspects of the sign cabinets they construct. This commences at the shop drawing stage, through cabinet fabrication, wiring and testing prior to cabinet painting. Their input is also sought in the design phase to ensure that signs are designed with fabrication and servicing considerations in mind.
Our graphics technicians apply the design (vinyl and/or paint) to sign faces and are responsible from preparation of the face (plastic, flex or metal) through cutting, layout and application of the graphics. We inspect and test signs to ensure all elements are functioning properly prior to their leaving the plant for installation. Installation and service is performed by our Sign Service and Installation Technician (SSIT) certified staff.
National Neon maintains a significant portfolio of leased signs. Our Display Rental Agreements are generally for five years and longer and include full service plus insurance coverage. Having a long history of leasing focuses our attention on building-in quality in design and fabrication to ensure reliable and serviceable signs. Profitability in leasing is a function of the costs of product failures and on-going service requirements as well as the initial investment. We build signs sold under cash sale contracts to the same high quality as our own leased signs.!

Our sales forces in both Calgary and Lethbridge are supported by full-time graphics designers dedicated to providing innovative and effective signs to meet our customers'needs. The design function uses state-of-the-art computer graphics software(Flexi Sign Pro, Enroute router interface, Corel Draw and these are linked to digital scanners and photographic equipment). Computer graphics capability in Lethbridge is networked to a dedicated PC driving a 48' Graphtec FC2100-120 plotter cutter on which we produce vinyl graphics for fascia signs and patterns for neon layouts and the CNC router system.
