Monachus Consulting provides timely and effective policy and communications advice to firms and organizations in the agri-food and related industries (including co-operatives) and assists them to adapt and advance in a rapidly changing national and international environment.

Monachus Consulting's activities are focussed on assisting Canadian farm organizations develop HACCP-based on-farm food safety initiatives and the organizational mechanisms required to sustain these initiatives as self-sufficient and dynamic components of their industries. This work includes the development of commodity specific programs and the facilitation of collaborative projects including: the development of an official recognition framework, the development of training modules for on-farm food safety auditors, research on common information technology requirements, the supervision of an organizational risk management project involving external risk consultants and liaison with federal and provincial governments.

Monachus Consulting also provides the secretariat service to the Canadian Supply Chain Food Safety Coalition. This organization represents national, provincial and local associations representing all segments of the supply chain from input suppliers to final marketers and is industry's voice in the development of an integrated approach to food safety in Canada.

Our offices are conveniently located in central Ottawa in close proximity to Parliament, federal government offices and Agriculture and Agri-food Canada.

Monachus Consulting's principal has over thirty years experience in Ottawa as a senior advisor to individual firms, national organizations, Ministers and parliamentary committees. He currently chairs the Canadian stakeholder group on ISO 22000 and represents Canada on ISO TC 34 WG 8.
