Vortek is focused on developing advanced Semiconductor Rapid Thermal Processing solutions for the 90nm node and below. The companys core technology is the Vortek water-wall arc lamp, the worlds most powerful arc lamp system.
Vortek has operated internationally for more than 25 years, serving specialized markets in thermal test/heat treatment and solar simulation. Three major technical elements have been central to its success:
The design and manufacture of high energy arc lamp sources The design and manufacture of optical delivery systems for the light/energy to a specified target for a given application The design and manufacture of measurement/monitoring systems to evaluate or ensure effective results from its delivery These form the basis of the advanced RTP technology that is now the core of our business.

Products and Services
Vortek designs and manufactures high-temperature optical furnaces for rapid annealing, surface hardening, sintering, bonding and glazing. Applications include rapid thermal processing (RTP) of silicon wafers, continuous production of silicon solar cells, strip annealing of thin metallic foils, and continuous bonding of thin metals.
Vortek's optical furnaces utilize radiant energy from proprietary ultra-powerful arc lamps as the focussed source of heat. Fast, highly controlled heating to high temperatures is achieved under automatic control.
Designs and manufactures Rapid Thermal Processing (RTP)systems using Vortek's unique Impulse Anneal (TM) RTP technology. Targetted at the 1.3micron and smaller shallow junction CMOS anneal market.
Manufactures solar simulators for the terrestrial (AM1.5) market - large area single lamp, large area multi-lamp (Halide) for automotive test, and solar cell production line testers
Manufactures large area solar simulators and IV curve tracers for testing advanced space solar arrays, and space thermal test
