Manitoba Trade and Investment Corporation (Manitoba Trade) is an agency of the Department of Industry, Trade and Mines, of the Province of Manitoba. It is responsible for encouraging, developing and increasing trade and inward investment. Manitoba Trade: Provides Manitoba companies with valuable information and resources for dealing with foreign markets; promotes trade and investment opportunities in Manitoba to representatives of foreign companies and investors; and co-ordinates its activities with associations and agencies of other governments, both in Canada and abroad, to ensure the most efficient use of its resources.
For Manitoba companies the corporation provides: Export diagnostic tools and counselling; training and skills development; global market information and analysis; trade programs and services, contacts (including its own trade representatives) around the world and strategic alliance support. Manitoba Trade's agents abroad are located in: Japan, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, U. K., Chile and Mexico. The corporation also has a trade assistance program to assist small Manitoba companies to attend trade shows in new markets and to upgrade their promotional literature.
