Since 1974, the dedicated teamwork and determination of over 100 employees has brought MDI through thirty one years of success in the creation of unique, superior quality products primarily used for residential and commercial applications.

MDI has a worldwide reputation as one of Canada's leading manufacturers and exporters of high quality, 100% natural solid custom wood doors. The doors are constructed with mortise and tenons, stile and rails, and have full thickness raised panels. The genuine, true divided brass, lead, zinc, and copper lites are hand crafted and fully customizable. Sawdust and wood shavings are recycled and compressed into "firewood briquettes" with absolutely no chemical adhesives, resulting in a clean burning, environmentally friendly by- product.
MDI also offers a complete line of custom prehanging options that feature the same superior quality found in our doors. Transoms, sidelites, jambs, casings, brick mouldings, astragals, and sills are made from the same 100% natural solid lumber as our doors. Top quality compression type weatherstripping, aluminum sills, hardware and finishing are also available, while new and custom door accessories are continually sourced on a daily basis.
There is absolutely no veneering, MDF (medium density fibreboard), plastic, vinyl, fibreglass, or steel in any of MDI's standard manufactured products.

MDI's market is global, therefore the order desk has extended hours. Information may be communicated in various languages via phone, fax, email, courier, or mail. Quotes may be obtained instantly, including all freight costs. There is no minimum order and products may be delivered anywhere in the world with "meet or beat" delivery dates.
MDI also offers a variety of promotional items designed to help you and your customers better understand the products. There include a comprehensive product catalogue, posters, various hand samples, display doors, and product knowledge training for your sales team.
There is an extensive line of standard door designs with the convenience of unlimited options, which allow you to create your own personal, unique door designs. MDI manufactures to order, according to your personal specifications, and is limited only by the imagination of the customer!

MDI is extremely competitive with any comparable product. This is achieved by focusing on our specialty - custom solid wood doors. We do not produce nor compete against any commodity products such as veneer, MDF, flush, hollow core, plastic, vinyl, fibreglass, or steel doors.
