Over the past ten years, Mackenzie International has been concentrating its activities in the Brazilian market.
We identify potential markets, locate potential partners for a joint-venture, a strategic alliance, or a technology transfer, and we look after the well-being of the established relationships, business trade and projects.
We have been assisting Canadian and Brazilian companies to give their first steps into the Brazilian and Canadian markets respectively, and to team them up with local firms in order to implement their projects or their exports.
More recently, Mackenzie invested in 2 Brazilian companies: as a partner in a Joint-Venture between a Canadian technology company and a Brazilian operating company to offer wireless location-based services, and as a sharehholder of a Brazilian Woodworking and Lumber Millwork manufacturer.

Took an equity position in this manufacturing plant that exports 90% of its products to Porto Rico, USA, Italy, Denmark, Israel and Central America. They manufacture customized tropical wood products such as, mouldings, panelling, decks, and other products for decoration. Our role is to support the company in its expansion towards new export markets, reorganizing their administration and finances for growth, and improving their production capabilities.
Location-Based Services (X3 Tecnologia)
Became a partner in this location-based services company that offers tracking, monitoring and telemetry services. This was the result of a two-year planning and market development program established with the partners of the company to bring this project to fruition
Telecom Contracting and Project Management (Tekcon Contractors)
Installation of 220 km underground fiber optical cables for Telemig's Network (Cellco from Minas Gerais), with a Canadian contractor in association with a Brazilian contractor, pioneering Canadian mechanical and non-destructive construction methods and knowhow in Brazil, which gave this new contracting team a productivity rate 5 times higher than the installation rate of all other Brazilian telecom contractors.
International Business Development (Giltek Telecom)
Became the strategic and corporate development arm for the companys activities in Brazil, to support its business development efforts, and to seek and secure telecom related business opportunities. Concentration in supply of goods and services to telecom turnkey projects, fiber optical networks, wireless networks, and network maintenance.
