MERLIN Manitoba Education Research and Learning Information Networks

MERLIN is a Special Operating Agency of the Manitoba Department of Energy, Science and Technology. It provides a central, yet accessible and responsive avenue of cost-effective educational technology services in support of the Government's commitment to broad-based distance education and technological literacy for all Manitoba's learners via the educational use of community- based infrastructures. The services MERLIN provides are:

developing, implementing, technology planning and operating educational technologies, including audio conferencing, testing/developing software applications for education, bulk purchasing of computer hardware and software, telecommunications routers, satellite scheduling, help-line support, INTERNET access for schools, and access to educational technology research data bases. The client base consists primarily of school divisions, post secondary institutions, and Manitoba Education and Training itself. Other clients include Provincial Government departments, and agencies and other Public sector organizations. Private user groups that utilize educational technology for professional or personal development. Services:
