Luff Industries uses Polycap technology in their conveyor-belt roller assembly (US Patent No.: 6, 234, 293 B1). The roller assembly is secured inside a conveyor-belt roller and onto an inner shaft. The roller assembly has a stationary anti-lock shield which protects the rotating exterior surface from coming into contact with the machinery, or outside elements such as debris. A dust shield is also positioned aft of the inti-lock shield to prevent the penetration of small particles and dust into the inner workings of the conveyor-belt roller assembly. The roller assembly also has deep rings in the load-bearing portion for thermal expansion and contraction as well as heat dissipation. Bridging ribs are positioned across the deep rings to greatly increase the strength, and threfore load bearing capacity of the roller asssembly. A tapered labyrinth seal is used so that it can be press locked into position making installation quicker and easier. The main load-bearing component and tapered labyrinth seal can be fabricated, when necessary to meet D level standards of the Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Assoc. (CEMA), from a high strength, heat resistant, 30% glass filled polypropylene material. It can resist up to 305 F / 152 C degrees. This conveyor-belt roller assembly is ideal for use in carrying heavy loads in potentially hazardous environments

With state-of- the -art CNC lathe technology, a retrofit roll can be supplied at a very competitive price and a delivery time which frequently surpasses industry standards for service delivery. Luff Industries can aid in the design of complete conveyor systems, or individual pulleys. With finite element analysis life and load ratings can be predicted under pre-determined conditions. Other programs such as Auto Cad Drafting and a variety of conveyor design programs are employed for engineering designs. These programs dictate CEMA rating of the idlers, as well as which pulley and shaft sizes are suitable for the desired application.
Luff Industries manufactures a standard 10' diameter brush with 3' long bristles. Other brush diameters and bristle lengths can be accommodated. All are avialable in nylon, poly propylene and natural fibers. A belt brush asembly is supplied with brush wear adjustments, hanger brackets, shaft, pillow block bearings, motor (TEFC), brush speed adjustment, cross members, belt guard and the brush of your choice.
Luff Industries manufactures a CEMA B, C, D, and E Idler Assembly in 4, 5, 6, and 7 inch diameter rolls, for all belt widths. Idler styles include equal roll and unequal roll troughing assemblies, in steel and impact, offset centre roll, trough training, flat impact, flat carrying, rubber disc return, plain steel return, feeder impact live shaft, plain return live shaft, disc return live shaft, disc and steel return training, disc and steel 10 degree V-returns, and retrofits. Retrofits may be necessary when specific requirements are needed to accommodate the roller fitting an existing frame, eliminating the need for frame replacement. Various types listed are offered in 20, 35, and 45 degree troughing assemblies.
Luff Industries offers all sizes of shafting in all types of materials, all types of bearings, hubs and bushings, laggings, return roller guards, urethane coatings, urethane anti-lock shields, special machining, and CNC work.
Luff Industries manufactures 3 styles of take-up frames. Regular duty, heavy duty (for split pillow block housings), and side mount take-up frames are manufactured to any take-up length desired, with bearing sizes starting and 1-3/16' to 5-5/16'. Custom frames can be built to suit special applications including an optional anti-seize coil rod. The coil rod resists corrosion and material build-up in harsh environments such as mining and quarry applications.
