LIFTKING Industries is one of North America's largest manufac- turers of heavy duty lift trucks and steel mill equipment. Our product line includes Forklift Trucks, Pallet Transporters, Slag Pot Carriers and related services such as Material Handling Engineering/Consulting and Plan Feasibility Studies. LIFTKING has vehicles located world-wide in use by the U. S., Canadian, and British Militaries, United Nations and many large steel mills around the world. We have also commercial dealers located throughout North America.
Our success in international markets has been due to strategic alliances with international agents. Also, monitoring steel industry's projects helped us earn most of our major customers.
Even though Liftking has been in the overseas market for a few years, our marketing efforts abroad are mostly new. We concentrated our efforts in U. S. territories, having now over 40 dealers covering U. S. main cities. For the past 3 years, we have been trying to expand into South America, Asia, Middle East and Australia. We would like to establish a dealer's network in these territories and be part of construction and steel projects.
Currently, our main contact with foreign countries has been through direct mail to Canadian Embassies and contacts overseas. Being part of international databases, trade shows, fairs and advertising in specialized publications is part of our marketing plan. We believe that a massive effort at the beginning will lead us to a reduced, but substantial number of opportunities.
