LATIN ACCESS was founded in 1993, initially with a view to the opportunities and intercultural communication challenges that the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) presented to Canadians, Mexicans and Americans. Our intention was to provide them the necessary skills to communicate, understand and deal with each other effectively as people, and to negotiate in a successful fashion. LATIN ACCESS name symbolizes a"bridge"to facilitate effective communication between English speakers and their international counterparts of 'Latin' origin (Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and French). However, due to globalization, we quickly started to deliver our services in many other languages such as Polish, German, Japanese, Russian and Arabic to meet our clients' needs. To date, we have rendered services to professionals, governments and corporate sector officials from a variety of industries in over 40 languages, including Swedish, Dutch, Norwegian, Mandarin, Cantonese, Ukranian, Czec, Greek and Icelandic. The term ACCESS symbolizes our interest to assist our clients in establishing key contacts and penetrating international markets by utilizing our professional Intercultural Communication Services and International Marketing Consulting Network.
LATIN ACCESS was launched with the World Potato Congress held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1993, where we catered Simultaneous & Consecutive Interpretation Services into several languages and also provided Translation, International Social Etiquette & Business Protocol Consulting as well as bilingual Hostessing Services to the organizers, exhibitors and participants in this event.

We deliver our written multilingual services on a windows format as per the software program of our clients choice and via e- mail, on a diskette and in a hard copy (by fax or courier).
Our customized seminars in intercultural communication and language training programs are currently being delivered at our clients' premises or in our office, and we expect to have these services available on the Internet in the near future.
Our consecutive/simultaneous interpreters are available to escort our clients on their trips overseas and to also assist them via teleconferences and long distnace telephone calls made on their behalf.
Our network of experienced international marketing consultants assist our clients to effectively penetrate a myriad of sectors and industries and to make key business contacts in their target foreign markets.
We have also assisted Canadian government and private sector organizations during the job description design, interview process and selection of candidates to positions requiring an array of linguistic skills.
Management of human resources from diverse ethnic cultures is another value-added service we have capitalized on since 1998.
Our multilingual services are a reflection of the respect and sensitivity we have towards all corporate and ethnic cultures. They are delivered within a frame of accuracy and strict confidentiality.

We have successfully supplied our certified multilingual services in more than 40 languages to date. Our schedule is neither Monday through Friday, nor 9 to 5, but rather, we abide by our clients' needs. On December 31, 1999 at 5 pm, we got a telephone call from one of our clients. He needed immediate assistance to get his shipment of non-perishable goods through customs in an Arabic-speaking country. He could not communicate in Arabic at all and he had several forms to fill out and fax back ASAP.
Latin Access facilitated the process via its intercultural communication services in Arabic and English, happily finishing the project one minute before the new milenium arrived!
