L-M Equipment manufactures electric chain deck saws and pond saws for the forest industry.
Deck saws with sawbars of up to 12 feet in length are used to cut the largest of logs, and are also used to split logs length-ways so they can be introduced into the mill flow and processed with smaller capacity equipment. Hydraulic crossaxe logsplitters with up to 80, 000 pounds thrust are offered, to split logs up to 10 feet in length.
To assist shake and shingle mills to handle larger logs, L-M manufactures log decks, special log stops, log lifts, log clamps, block lifters and pantograph block splitters to produce shake blocks. When the market required a high-speed shake resaw, L-M offered the model RS42-B, a redesigned 42

As the logs got smaller and demand for speed increased, more and more circular cutoff saws were manufactured. L-M has a complete line of chop saws 48' up to 84' in diameter from simple air operated saws to sophisticated hydraulically operated saws with integral log lifts and automatic hold down guards that serve both as saw guard and log hold down.
Hydraulic crossaxe logsplitters with up to 80, 000 pounds thrust are offered, to split logs up to 10 feet in length.
Several years ago L-M introduced a new way of cutting packages of finished lumber, when they introduced three models of the L-M Package cutoff saws, with seven foot saw bars, precision sawchain and a guide arch.
Later more speed and accuracy was required and the Verticut package saw was introduced. This is the most accurate and high tech package cutoff saw, offering digital length readout, PLC controlled preprogrammed saw cycling, laser light saw position indicator and inline package squaring.
Swing saws are manufactured from 48' diameter to 108' diameter to cut logs up to 47' diameter with a cycle time of approximately 5.6 seconds.
