KITAC is a non profit organization under the leadership of a Board of Directors, dedicated volunteers from business, industry and labour committed to life long learning. KITAC is committed to providing top quality, timely, cost effective training for individuals and organizations in a format and at locations which meets the specialized needs of clients.

In the seventy's a group of industry representatives met regularly to address the shortage of skilled trades training and trades people.

In the eighty's representation from business, industry, labour, education and government reviewed training requirements for skilled trades. The committee provided expertise for high school and college programs related to apprenticeship programs.

In the late eighty's KITAC spearheaded changes driven by technological change to support industry requirements in the technological revolution. In 1987 KITAC incorporated and diversified to include training in all sectors. As part of their mandate to reseach changing needs KITAC was the first organization to research Agriculture's needs at the grass root level. Actually asking farmers what they needed.

KITAC has been actively involved in research and development to address local needs to have a skilled work force. Over the years KITAC has formed alliances with public and private organizations to promote skilled trades, life long learning and community development.

KITAC along with the PFMA (Plant Facilities Maintenance Assoication Canada Inc) local chapter provides busaries each year to individuals pursuing a career in skilled and technical occupations including apprenticeship.

KITAC has sponsored economists, research projects and presentation to promote and support the development of a skilled work force.
