Results Pro shop was looking for a cost effective secure ecommerce solution where they could offer over 500 health and fitness supplement products to customers across Canada. As the project manager, I performed interviews, gathered information and documented all the requirements. This phase included a technical needs analysis, flowcharts, use cases and interface mockups. I established the project timelines and managed all project resources including developers, graphic designers and external suppliers such as Canada Post, PSIgate and Geotrust.

More research and analysis was needed to decide which aspects of the project we would build and which we would purchase. X-Cart PHP ecommerce software was selected as the engine for the site. X-Cart was chosen for its open source license, ease of site management, scalability, search engine features and integration with the QuickBooks financial systems. The Blue Hornet email marketing system was also integrated into the store to allow personalized monthly email marketing campaigns to be easily managed. The Echo System was chosen for its list management, campaign management and tracking features.

All software was installed, customized and integrated with a MySQL backend database. A copy writer created detailed product descriptions for search engine positioning. The description and images were added to the store, and a testing phase was then launched for 2 weeks to debug the system prior to the launch date. The project was completed in 4 months on time and on budget.
