IPSCO Inc. is an electric arc steelmaker with steel making capacity in excess of two 1/4 million tons. New capacity will be coming on stream in 2001 consisting of an additional 1 million tons.
Products include: hot rolled coil, plate & slabs, line pipe, OCTG, standard pipe, hollow structural sections, pilings, transmission tower & cut-to-length steel.
IPSCO has pipemaking capacity in sizes ranging from 1"to 80". Mills are located in three Canadian provinces & three American states. Exports to the U. S. comprise 25% of the Company's sales.
Pipe is manufactured using both electric resistance welds for longitudinal welds & double submerged arc welds on spiral weld pipe.
IPSCO has supplied most major pipelines & continues to be a major player in this market.
