IDI commercialized its first product IDI-Strep in 2003. The second produt IDI-MRSA should be commercialized by the end of December 2003 in Canada and at the beginning of 2004 in USA. I. D. I. will continue to introduce a series of innovative diagnostic kits in the years to come which will revolutionize infectious disease management due to its genomic technology. Thse DNA based assay kits will provide information about the nature of the infection to physicians within one hour compared to the 2 to 3 days normally required. As a result, this will improve patient care by reducing the quantity of antibiotic prescriptions too often used for no reason and fights against the growing problem of bacterial resistance to antibiotics. These tests are extremely accurate acting like the 'fingerprinting' of the bacteria. They will be flexible and extremely cost effective.
