VIETNAM -Dam Safety and Flood Control Preliminary Feasibility Study (August 2001 November 2002)
The Preliminary Feasibility Study permitted to determine all necessary measures to ensure an appropriate and comprehensive level of dam safety management for EVN's ten existing hydroelectric installations. The study also includes an assessment of large floods, a review of existing hydro-meteorological networks and a preliminary inflow forecast. The study payed also special attention to environmental aspects of dam safety and flood control.

BURUNDI, RWANDA AND WESTERN TANZANIA - The objective of this assessment is to undertake an inclusive and participatory sub-regional SSEA of Power Development Options (including interconnections) in Burundi, Rwanda and western Tanzania. The assessment will evaluate power generation options in the three countries and enable consideration of power development, transmission interconnections, and sharing of benefits. The outcome of the process is anticipated to be a power strategy that will put forth different power development options, including an assessment of their economic and engineering feasibility as well as environmental and social impacts, to allow for informed and transparent decision-making in the selection of power investments.
