Company Overview

Welcome to an insight of Hike Metal Products Ltd.

Since 1958, and through the early ears, Hike Metal enjoyed modest but steady growth while bing given support form the local fishing industry.

The late 1970's and early 80's however brought about the need to redefine our corporate goals and the strategies by which we were to achieve those goals.

Therefore, the firm's facilities and infra structure were subjected to a finely tuned 're-structuring plan.'

This upgrading has resulted in providing customers today with one of the most modern, well equipped shipyard facilities on the Great Lakes in which they can turn to.

One of our greatest assets, however, is our team of highly skilled personnel, some having been with our firm since its conception.

Stressing individual creativity and imitative, we have cultured an attitude of both pride and performance in every new building or repair turned out. This is evident throughout each phase of construction. Our reputation is now internationally renowned for versatility, quality, reliability and competitiveness.

We're proud of our company and the vessels we build, but we're especially proud of our people who build them. The value we've placed on human resources has been a rewarding one, one in which we attribute our continuing success.

We eagerly look forward to your inquiries. Whether you're planning new construction or in need of a repair and refit, you can be assured of our commitment to integrity and quality in every job we do.

DESIGN & PRODUCTION Initial discussions with customers establish and define the class and functional requirements of the vessel. A close working relationship with the customer right from the beginning ensures that this phase of an order proceeds with efficiency. This further develops a more pleasant working relationship and one in which helps us to accommodate the owner's needs easier.

Our large, modern plant facilities and metal working machinery enable us to build both large and small vessels simultaneously. Vessels up to 100 ft. in length can be built completely inside under heated, environmentally controlled conditions, while larger vessels are built in sub-sections and assembled on building berths outside. These facilities are strategically laid out to afford smooth throughput flow of materials and components from delivery... to inspection and stocking... to preparation and incorporation into the vessel allocated.

Systems and installations are pre-engineered before work is put in hand. This alleviates discretionary work habits during construction and provides the customer with an efficient and professional 'purpose' built vessel ensuring layouts are functional and appearance is eye appealing. There is no compromise.

Close communication kept between estimating, design, administration and production staff ensure timely and effective problem solving without interrupted production. What this means to the customer is a quality product built and delivered on time;

at the best, most competitive price possible.
