General Electric entered in the isolated phase bus business in the early fifties. General Electric Canada's isolated phase bus duct plant, located in St-Augustin, near Qubec City, has the world mandate from its parent company for isolated phase bus duct and auxiliary equipment since 1980.
As a world-class supplier, our fully integrated plant, which is ISO-9001-94 certified, has been very active in the isolated phase bus duct equipment market not only in Canada but also in the US and international markets. Over the last 20 years we have been the major supplier of isolated phase bus duct equipment to the utility market in Canada. Our experience is impressive, having supplied SEBJ's requirements for most of the James Bay units, including the largest self cooled bus (28800A) and disconnect switches (30000A)in the world. As mentionned earlier, GE Canada's bus duct operation also has a strong experience in the international market with projects in countries such as India, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Argentina, China and others.

Min-i-phase Bus Duct
Our unique Min-I-Phase bus duct design is a miniature version of our isolated phase bus with the same degree of reliability and safety. This bus can be used in reduced space and is also designed for AC and DC exitation leads in power plants or for industrial applications where severe conditions can cause problems to the electrical equipment.
Our self-cooled designs cover the following ratings:
1.2 kV 13.8 kV AC or 1500 V DC 30 kV - 110 kV BIL up to 6000 A AC and 8200 A DC
