GPEC Consulting Ltd. is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm which specializes in providing comprehensive planning, engineering and project management services to all areas of the private and public sector. Professional services are provided for a broad range of projects including; municipal utilities, land planning and development, transportation infrastructure, waste management, recreational planning and development, and building projects.
GPEC is a privately held Alberta company, in which all shareholders are actively employed in the day to day operations of the company. The present staff complement of 35 employees includes planners, engineers, technologists, golf course designers and technical support staff.
GPEC Consulting Ltd. was incorporated in 1984, through the acquisition of four Alberta based branch offices of EPEC Consulting Western Ltd. GPEC further expanded their engineering expertise in May 2000 through an amalgamation with Serv-Alta Engineering Ltd. employees.
GPEC Consulting Ltd. currently maintains offices in Grande Prairie, Peace River, Edmonton, Camrose and Calgary, Alberta to provide direct local services to our clients in the western region of Canada.

REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS
TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS Highway 41 - grading, intersection treatment, bridge replacement and resurfacing Highway 240 - hot, in place, recycle ACP (EPS), on Highway 240 and related urban improvements on entrance into the Town of Athabasca S. H. 697.02 to Highway 35 and High Level Airport - ACP pavement project for 17km of Secondary Highway and miscellaneous runway rehabilitation at High Level Airport Diashawa-Marubeni International Ltd. - Survey and engineering design for the development of 12.5 km of industrial haul roads at Sulphur Lake near Peace River
STREET REHABILITATION PROJECTS City of Leduc, Alberta Town of Elk Point, Alberta Town of Devon, Alberta Town of Swan Hills, Alberta Town of Lamont, Alberta Town of Beaumont, Alberta These projects included the preliminary design, detailed design and construction inspection services for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of existing asphalt streets. Construction included the installation of storm sewers and underdrains, new water and sewer mains, concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks, paving stone, asphaltic paving and line markings.
PLANNING & LAND DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
Bridgeport Subdivision, Leduc, Alberta Planning, detailed design, tendering and construction services for a new Melcor multi-phased residential and commercial land development project encompassing 300 acres. Design and construction considerations have included a major storm water facility, bridge crossing, arterial and major collector roadways, and residential servicing.
Coloniale Estates, Beaumont, Alberta Complete planning and engineering design for the Coloniale Golf Course and Coloniale Estates Subdivision valued in excess of $25 million. Phases 1 through 5 have been completed along with the golf course at a cost of over $10 million to date.
INDUSTRIAL SITE SERVICING PROJECTS
Ainsworth Timber Co. Grande Prairie, Alberta. Site servicing for major O. S. B. Plant south of Grande Prairie including grading and pavement for access and parking areas. Tamarack Construction Access road and site development for Amine Terminal Tank Farm and major storage area in SE Edmonton including rail spur line construction, and storm water management.
BUILDING DESIGN PROJECTS
Camrose Regional Exhibition-Exhibit Pavilion Building-Camrose, AB
GPEC was retained to completely re-develop the existing facility. The facility could be categorized as a white elephant. The 132, 000 sq. ft. facility was an empty shell with no floors or parking facilities and was not viable for any productive exhibition use.
Re-development work included the planning and design of: a 1, 000 car parking lot and perimeter yard areas; 26, 000 sq. ft. banquet hall; 19, 200 sq. ft. amenities area including washroom upgrading, a banquet hall kitchen and a concession area; 2, 000 sq. ft. entry addition; heating, ventilation, lighting and floor slab improvements to a 86, 000 sq. ft. exhibit hall; two - new 12, 000 sq. ft. livestock exhibit buildings.
Shaw Pipe Protection Ltd. - Pipe Coating Plant- Camrose, AB
GPEC was retained to provide preliminary planning, detailed design, tendering, construction supervision and construction administration of a new pipe coating facility. The facility was built on a fast track basis compressing the construction and plant commissioning phase into a 6 month period. The design process require the completion of detailed design work as the production facility was under-construction.
The process design was being completed as the facility was being constructed. GPEC was required to address process design issues in a timely manner with a minimum of construction change orders to maintain cost control.
Millwoods Pentecostal Assembly - Church Complex-Edmonton, AB
GPEC Consulting was retained to provide integrated architectural and engineering design, cost budgeting and construction inspection for a new church managed complex that included administration offices, day care facilities, music recital, and a 1400 seat sanctuary which included provisions for a large performing arts stage/theatre/music orchestra and choir. The sanctuary was equipped with a state of the art sound/music system and catwalk for performing arts plays and music recitals. Paved parking was provided to accommodate 400 cars.
GPEC Consulting provided complete architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering design from concept through tendering to construction completion for this $5.0 million church complex.
WATER & WASTE WATER TREATMENT PROJECTS
Town of St. Paul-Water Treatment Plant-St. Paul, Alberta
GPEC Consulting was engaged to perform pilot testing, preliminary design, detailed design of the treatment process and structure, project tendering and construction supervision.
The treatment system consists of raw water pumping system, three stage ozone treatment, dissolved air flotation clarification, 2 stage filtration and PLC control system.
Okotoks Sewage Treatment Pant-Okotoks, Alberta
Design and construction supervision of the RBC treatment plant at Okotoks, Alberta including design of low lift screw pumping, grit removal, fine screening (rotating screens) for preliminary treatment, air driven RBC units, secondary clarification, aerobic sludge digestion and chlorine contact disinfection.
