Fanshawe is an Ontario community college that provides a full range of training, needs assessment, curriculum design, training evaluation, strategic planning, training delivery and other related business services in addition to postsecondary and apprenticeship education and training. It is the sixth largest college in Ontario.
Fanshawe College has four campuses and two centres in:
London, St. Thomas; Woodstock; Simcoe; Strathroy; and Tillsonburg. Services are provided on a contract basis either in Canada (at one of our campuses or at employers' premises) or overseas.
Subject areas include: applied arts and communications; business/management; design;
information technology; building/architectural, environmental, motive power (automotive and diesel), mechanical, manufacturing, and electronical/electronics technology;
hospitality; health care; health technology; human services; English as a Second Language;
cross-cultural communications; train-the-trainer;
counselling/testing; and trainee assessment/evaluation.
Fanshawe has more than 100 diploma, certificate career programs and postgraduate programs in applied arts, business, hospitality, technology, communications, broadcasting, health, human services and apprenticeship. It also offers hundreds of part-time credit courses in these fields and in personal and professional development, leisure studies and the fine arts. Many courses are now available via the Internet or through interactive multimedia.
Many programs are offered in a co-operative education format - Fanshawe has the largest number of co-op programs of any college in Canada and is among the top five co-op leaders in North America.
Fanshawe assists business and industry in training-related strategic planning, needs analysis, skills assessment (current and prospective employees)and can provide any training required. Training can be conducted on-site or at any of our facilities.
Overseas, Fanshawe works with the Canadian International Development Agency, the Association of Canadian Community Colleges and other institutions and governments in developing nations to help develop sustainable infrastructure and programs.
Fanshawe College has been selected by the readers of London Business Magazine as the #1 computer trainer for the private sector in London and area. It also has received an Award of Merit from the St. Thomas & District Chamber of Commerce for leadership/provision of quality entrepreneurial training and an Industry Canada Award for innovation and leadership on the Information Highway.
Key Performance Indicators (as evaluated by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities) rate Fanshawe high when it comes to student, graduate and employer satisfaction. Our graduate employment rate (2003) is 91%. More than 97% of our corporate training clients are pleased with Fanshawe's services and would return to the college for their training needs.

Fanshawe's Skills Assessment Centre matches the skills the position requires with the skills of job applicants. The Centre can help you choose the most qualified person for the job. The Centre can assess the skills of external job applicants, or applicants who currently are employed in another part of your business. Individuals -- especially licenced tradespeople coming from out of province -- can have their skills assessed to see how they measure up to requirements for that designation in Ontario. Assessments can be done on a contract or fee-for-service basis.
