• Energy Monitoring System.

  Tenants have the option to decrease consumption if they monitor energy usage. By reducing their consumption, peak demand charges (often a substantial portion of a building's electric bill) will be lowered, thus making the building more attractive to prospective tenants.

  Decreases in energy consumption are also important in manufacturing facility departments or 'lines'. Many manufacturing companies are now placing the responsibility for energy budgeting at the line foreman level... and this includes calculating costs just the same as for labour, materials, and other direct expenses.

  With Cutler-Hammer's Integrated Monitoring Protection and Coordination Communication (IMPACC) system, energy costs can be allocated by department, process or area of a facility to increase accountability. Additional information can be used to shed non-critical loads or reschedule loads to reduce peak demand charges. Individual motors and loads can be tracked to improve efficiency and decrease downtime. Historical trending functions can be used to develop daily or seasonal load profiles. Cutler-Hammer's IMPACC system can give feedback on where energy can be reduced, as well as results of energy conservation programs.

  Cutler-Hammer can provide energy metering devices from the utility incoming line down to a 15 A breaker or fractional HP motor with the following products:

  Digitrip OPTIM Trip Unit: Trip unit for Series C frame, SPB and DS circuit breakers (70 A through 5, 000 A) which monitors power and energy.

  Digitrip RMS 810: Trip unit for Series C R-Frame, SPB and DS breakers which monitors current; power; and energy (watts, peak demand, and watt-hours). Digitrip RMS 910: Trip unit for Series C R-Frame, SPB and DS breakers which monitors current; voltage; power (watts, peak demand); energy; power factor; and total harmonic distortion.

  IQ Analyzer: Premier power quality meter which includes: current; voltage; power (watts, vars, and VA); energy; frequency; demand; power factor; %THD current; %THD voltage; K Factor; CBEMA derating factor; crest factor; and configurable I/O: 3 discrete inputs, 4 relay outputs, 1 analog input, 3 analog outputs.

  IQ Central Energy Display: Monitors and displays energy information (watts, peak demand, and watt-hours) from up to 58 IQ Energy Sentinels and IQ DataPlus II devices. IQ Data Plus II: Digital power meter which includes: current; voltage; power (watts and vars); energy; frequency; demand; power factor; and voltage protection. IQ Energy Sentinel: Submetering device that mounts on the load end of a Series C Circuit Breaker and monitors both power and energy (watts, peak demand, and watt-hours). Universal IQ Energy Sentinel: Submetering device that can be either DIN rail or panel- mounted that monitors both power and energy (watts, peak demand, and watt-hours).

  These devices can function as stand alone units, be included in an IMPACC system, or even be incorporated into existing building management or distributed control systems.
