Marbek in association with Demand Side Energy, provided BC Hydro International with a co-developed a three-year Technology Transfer Program for TNB comprised of two phases: Phase 1 Strategy and Planning: The major activity was an assessment of the potential for cost-effective DSM in Malaysia. This included a review of the energy-use data by major customer groups (subsectors) in the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors, and then determination of the split of energy consumption by end-use in each subsector. A business case, assessing the economic costs and benefits of DSM from the perspective of both TNB and the overall economy of Malaysia, and a DSM plan were developed. Phase II Program Development and Implementation: initial DSM program design and associated management and marketing. Emphasis was placed on technology transfer and development of programs and management systems.
