Technology Profile:

Along with detailed structural analyses and sophisticated design services, comprehensive structural assessment and investigation techniques are also provided. These include both standard and specialized services such as delamination and sounding surveys, electric half-cell potential surveys, carbonation and pH profile testing. We have also developed test procedures for pre- qualification, testing, and quality assurance of sealers and coatings. We conduct test procedures for coating membranes used on parking decks, building facades and in aggressive environments. Our in-house equipment for investigative purposes include boroscopes and impact-echo diagnostic equipment. We utilize scanning electron microscopy (S. E. M.) and energy dispersive x-ray analysis in the assessment of duress and deterioration. This investigative technique is carried out by our personnel using the facilities available to us at the University of Manitoba.
