Copdel Inc. is a private Canadian company specialised in the development production and world-wide distribution of new and innovative oil-spill control equipment. Founded in 1996 by Mr. Gilles Duchesneau and Jean-Pierre Bourque, both former Canadian Coast Guard Marine Environmental Emergency Specialists who together conceived and designed the equipment named the Protecteur. The offices are in Lac Beauport, Quebec. Copdel Inc. currently has 5 employees.
The Protecteur is currently installed at numerous major dockside transfer installations in Canada. Companies such as Esso, Ultramar and Petro-Canada are already users of the system.
