CHINOOK GROUP LIMITED
Chinook is the name of one of Canada's original Indian tribes which lived on our west coast long before our nation was founded. It also means 'a welcomed warm dry wind' that each year blows down the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains to melt the snows of early spring. And it also is the name given to a highly prized family of salmon - caught commercially and for sport on our Pacific coast.
In choosing Chinook as our name, we hope to convey a respect for our heritage, a sign of new growth and renewal as well as a symbol of strength and nourishment.
The pine tree is found across Canada and is recognized abroad as a symbol of Canada - bending in the wind but surviving for decades, anchored to the rock of our Precambrian Shield.
Our choice of company logo - a pine tree - was made to respect and reflect traditional Canadian values.
