Using Global Positioning Systems (GPS) technology, Challenger Surveys can chart the extent of an oil spill as well as monitor its movement. Using Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) technology, Challenger can monitor the precise movements of the clean up boats and also direct boats to the edges of the spills, even at night.

Using GPS and GIS technologies, Challenger can collect all the data, on-shore and along the coastline (including several hundred meters offshore) to prepare maps and other reports. Data on maps/reports can be updated as needed. These maps/reports are essential to monitor erosion or effects of oil spills or other environmental concerns affecting the shoreline.
