Background Cansera has the technical management experience and knowledge of 15 years of business in the serum industry. The management team represents a combined total or more than 40 years experience in serum and cell culture technology. The laboratory and production facilities were constructed in 1987 and designed according to the recommended quidelines of the FDA Medical Devices (USA) and GMP and HPB (Canada). This facility is suitable for manufacturing of cell culture products and filling of liquid pharmaceuticals.

Markets Cansera's strength is supplying large volumes of high quality Fetal Bovine Serum and Donor Bovine Serum to industrial scale cell culture manufacturing facilities, biotechnology research institutes and diagnostic institutes, worldwide. Canadian animal based products are recognized by agricultural regulatory agencies to be free of animal diseases, including BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy), making this raw material source accepted internationally for importation, without restriction.   Notes All sera collected under the strictest aseptic conditions. Components of each Lot are individually tested before pooling so we can process Batches that match customer specifications.

  Certification Each Batch is accompanied by a detailed Certificate of Analysis released by our Quality Control Department. All international shipments are shipped with Health Certificates issued by Agriculture Canada. All sera meet USDA requirements for animal sera, and can be imported into the US without restrictions.

  Packaging Our sera are available in 100 ml, 500 ml, 1000 ml or 3500 ml Nagene PETG bottles, or custom filled in customer specified containers and closures.

• Donor Bovine Serum

  Cat # CS-C09 - DONOR BOVINE SERUM A unique Donor Bovine Serum collected from a disease free heard of young steers maintained on an isolated farm. Certified free of Bovine viruses including; Bovine Leukosis, Blue Tongue, BVD, IBR and PI-3. Filter sterilized and screened for endotoxin levels and tested for absence of infectious, adventitious agents, including mycoplasmas.

  Cat # CS-C09-HI - DBS - HEAT INACTIVATED Our Donor Bovine Serum (cat # CS-C09), heat inactivated at 56C for 30 minutes.

  Cat # CS-C09-GI - DBS - IRRADIATED Our Donor Bovine Serum (Cat # CS-C09), Gamma irradiated at a minimum dose of 1.0 Megarads.

• Donor Calf Serum

  Cat # CS-C22 - DONOR CALF SERUM This serum is collected from isolated calves less than 12 months of age. Complete traceability of individual bleeding records and animal health is available. The calves originate from Federally Certified Leukosis Free herds.

  Cat # CS-C23 - BVD ANTIBODY - FREE DONOR CALF SERUM This serum is collected from isolated bull calves and young steers over the age of 6 months, originating form Federally Certified Leukosis Free herds. The calves are tested for BVD antibodies at intervals of approximately 3 months. Rae material is kept on an individual animal basis until acceptance for pooling. Individual bleeding records are available.

• Donor Foal Serum

  Cat # CS-C14 - DONOR FOAL SERUM Donor Foal serum is collected from an isolated herd of young horses less than 12 months of age. Each animal is tested to be free of EIA. Individual Bleeding records are available.

• Embryo Transfer Donor Serum

  Cat # CS-E09-ET - EMBRYO TRANSFER DONOR SERUM (ETDS) This serum is collected from Donor animals and processed following the same protocol as our Donor Bovine Serum. It is Heat inactivated and Gamma irradiated to eliminates any risk of infectious, adventitious agents. This material is recommended by Agriculture Canada for Embryo Transplants transferred to other countries. It is available in standard bottles and conveniently packaged 10 ml tubes.

  Cat # CS-C15 - HORSE SERUM Tested for sterility, endotoxin, cell growth promotion, mycoplasmas and other infectious, adventitious agents. Also tested for suitability for use in Mycoplasma test media.
