SPECIAL CAPABILITIES Northerns principal competitive strength is its ability to furnish fans custom-engineered, fabricated, and/or finished to meet specific customer requirements. Central to this competence is Northerns on-going commitment to research and design. The engineering design group, consisting of nine graduate professional engineers with the support of twenty technologists and draftspersons, provide the necessary experience to produce a technically advanced mechanical product. This group has at their disposal an on-site laboratory which is used for aerodynamic testing, destructive and strain gauge stress testing, and vibration analysis. Additional technologies include a multi-station CAD/CAM network complete with finite element analysis capabilities.
Customers with special installation or equipment start-up requirements are aided by a service staff with extensive product knowledge and aerodynamic expertise. Both CSI and IRD vibration analysis equipment are employed on-site to ensure optimum fan performance.
QUALITY ASSURANCE A quality assurance program to national standard CSA Z299 has been put into effect when required by contractual agreement. Northern Blower is certified to ISO 9001.
MANUFACTURING FACILITY The companys manufacturing facility consists of 75, 000 square feet of factory on nine acres of land. The plant was constructed specifically for industrial fan and blower fabrication. Numerical control machinery for punching and flame cutting metal plate lead a list of modern production equipment. Extensive capacity exists for the manual, semi-automatic, and automatic welding of carbon and stainless steels as well as non- ferrous alloys including aluminum. All welders are certified to a CSA/CWB program.
