  EDMSIM (Emergency and Disaster Management Simulator) is an entity-based, real-time constructive simulation. The intent of EDMSIM is to train the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) staff and Incident Commanders (IC) by replacing the current cloth model and Master Event List (MEL) exercises with a simulator. This provides a more realistic input to the ICs and EOC and allows the exercise to be more dynamic and free-flowing than the traditional training methods. EDMSIM is intended as a training tool for the primary training audience which is the ICs and EOC but also the secondary training audience which are the first responders and other operators who are sitting in front of the computer stations operating the simulation entities.
