Belleisle Foods Ltd. was established in 1985 as a spin-off from a family owned operation and is located in Belleisle Creek, NB, approximately 20 kilometers west of Sussex.
It has been an ongoing philosophy that quality will not be compromised to meet competition. A high caliber of employees and excellent product quality have been contributing factors to the success of the company.
Belleisle Foods Ltd., was awarded a certificate of Merit in the 1993 Canada Awards of Business Excellence, Small Business category. The company's second award of this nature.
CUSTOMERS
Customers are our number one priority. We have developed relationships with not only retail customers across Canada, but we also have developed product formulas and currently manufacture for many private label customers.
PRODUCTS
Under the 'Belleisle Farms' brand name, the company markets a variety of homestyle products across Canada and is currently beginning to export to the United States.
In order to stay competitive in the fast-paced food industry, product development has maintained a priority with Belleisle Foods Ltd. In the past three years, development of various products has led to not only providing additional growth but a line of quality homestyle products for the retail and foodservice markets.
The product line includes ten varieties of eggrolls, complimentary sauces, meat pies, salmon pies, and products for Rethermalization and Health Care.
Since the opening of Belleisle Foods Ltd., a federally inspected plant, expansion has occurred rapidly. Growth of the facility has led to increasing employment from 10 employees to 80 full time.
QUALITY FACILITIES
From the point of start up, the company has placed emphasis and importance upon meeting and exceeding regulatory agency requirements. To assist our in-house quality control facility, an accredited outside laboratory is retained to audit performances and our facility is visited regularly by department inspection staff who conduct monthly audits. Our quality team inspects incoming ingredients and each batch of product ensuring consistent and premium quality products. Belleisle has also received HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certification.
