I just want to take a minute to relay our good experience with recently switching to BSI for registrar services associated with our existing ISO 14001 EMS.

EPC-Mattawan is part of AFL Automotive, which is a business unit within Alcoa. In three short months, BSI processed our application, reviewed existing evidence, and coordinated communication among several levels of management in both Alcoa and BSI so that we could be scheduled on time for our next due surveillance audit. It appears that our location's switch to BSI will be a key step towards business unit certification of AFL Automotive in ISO 14001 by BSI.

Each person we worked with was courteous and executed their responsibilities well. I especially would like to thank Randy Taylor for performing a requested 1 day document review and thank Rock Shary for performing the first surveillance audit. The involvement of top level auditors provided insight and confidence to our Business Unit EHS Manager (Allen Baxter) in his plan for AFL Automotive business unit certification in ISO 1400 by BSI.

Our great appreciation and biggest thank you is owed to our sales contact, Lauri Powell. After the initial conversation and referral to other personnel, she lived up to her offer of personally watching over our progress and push it along whenever a step would temporarily stall. Without her, we may have not met our timelines or involved all the right persons to pave the way for a potential future AFL Business Unit ISO 14001 certification.
