Strategy
For us, strategy and creativity are inseparable. Strategy is about determining the way to a goal; creativity is about making the journey a powerful one. In considering our clients communication needs, we use our creativity to determine not only a design approach but also the right mix of technology and media to achieve compelling results. And we back that practice up with professional project management and long-term customer support. Part of ensuring an effective strategy is following a strategic process. Our process consists of eight defined steps that all work together to ensure that every project is a success.
Investigate Conduct market research, online surveys, interviews, determine requirements, formulate recommendations and perform marketing and communication strategy development.
Plan Project requirements, information architectures, interaction design and technical architectures.
Prototype Static and working prototyping, wire framing and functional mock-up development.
Edit Writing, editing, adaptation and translation.
Design Creative conceptualization, brand development, focus testing, interface design.
Develop Template creation, application programming, assembly, quality assurance review and accessibility testing.
Implement Hosting, domain registration, site migration, load testing, platform-specific testing and evaluation.
Maintain Updates, edits, training (in custom applications and content management solutions), graphic-standards guide development and ongoing support.

Earlier this year the organizers of the Sobey Art Award enlisted the services of Erik Hagborg and Mark Stephenson of Axionic a digital media studio, to design and implement a web site devoted to the award. We were looking to create a site that would serve multiple functions. The end result located at www. sobeyartaward. ca is a stellar example of web-site design it is smart, sophisticated and easy to navigate.
The strategy used by the Axionic team in building the site was exemplary, far exceeding the expectations of the Sobey Art Award partners, which include Sobey Art Foundation, Empire Company Ltd and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. One of the key issues was to have a structure to which elements could be added, changed and developed without compromising the visual identity of the Award or the design of the site. Again, this was achieved and under a very tight deadline.
We certainly look forward to an ongoing working relationship with Hagborg and Stephenson and wish them all the best with Axionic.
