Arvin has been providing custom contract manufacturing services to North American companies from its Miramichi, New Brunswick facility since 1973. Since its beginning to service the power transmission and heavy chain requirements of the mines and mills in the Maritimes it has expanded to provide a fully integrated manufacturing service to meet the needs of a variety of industries, including Aerospace, Electronics, Defence, Telecommunications, Oil and Gas, Medical Components, Industrial, Transportation, Nuclear, Utilities and Marine.

Arvin has grown to 30, 000 square feet of manufacturing space, 65 employees and a customer base which includes some of North America's largest industrial and telecommunication components firms. In addition to our traditional markets of conveyor, sprocket, chain, gears and related products, Arvin has adapted and upgraded the facilities and equipment to provide the flexibility and quality crucial in today's marketplace.
Services
CNC Machining Arvin has been providing CNC machining services to a diverse customer base for over 15 years. Arvin has a capability for high production machining featuring precision, accuracy, high repeatability, reliability and flexible manufacturing. Our market niche is custom manufacture of components and parts. Our product range goes from single OEM replacement parts for heavy industry to complex electronics components for wireless hardware manufacturers.
CNC Milling Arvin utilizes nine (9) Vertical Machining Centers and nine (9) Horizontal Machining Centers to produce custom components and parts from a wide variety of materials. Many of the centers have large tool storage capacity (as much as 120 tools), automatic pallet changers, 4 axis capability, high speed spindles (to 15, 000 rpm), synchronized tapping and large table size (80' x 36' by 24'). Latest equipment additions were two Fanuc Robodrills and two Mori-Seiki SH500 HMCs.
CNC Turning Arvin provides a very flexible turning capacity with five (5) CNC Lathes. The lathes range in size between centers from 1 meter, 3 meter to 5 meter. Featured equipment includes a pair of Nakamura-Tome TW-20 Twin Spindle Lathes with bar feeders to 2' diameter, auto transfer L to R, 6 live tools per turret and 6' chuck capacity.
Custom Machining In addition to CNC Machining, Arvin provides a custom precision machining service to heavy industry throughout Atlantic Canada. This service is provided to many metalworking firms in the region as well. Arvin has capacities and capabilities exceeding those of most metalworking firms. Large capacity Boring Mills (both vertical and horizontal) are utilized to manufacture or repair equipment or parts to 100' diameter. Two overhead cranes of 10 ton capacity assist in handling many of the larger workpieces.
Gear and Spline Manufacture Arvin has the capacity to custom manufacture gears and splines to meet the needs of its industrial customers. Arvin has acquired the manufacturing expertise to provide cost effective solutions to gear replacements and gearbox repairs. Our hobbing and shaping machines can cut gears up to 70' diameter and to 30' face. We have an extensive inventory of tooling to cut both Imperial and metric sizes. Arvin can custom manufactures most spline and gear types, both external and internal. In addition to gearboxes, Arvin offers a complete rebuilt service for other power transmission components.
Fabrication and Material Handling Arvin has the facilities to custom fabricate many parts and components in support of its machining services. It features the most modern equipment including a CNC Torch Cutting System. Mig, Tig and Aluminum welding services are available as well as metalworking equipment and saws.
Value Added Manufacturing One of Arvin's most cost-effective services offered to its customers is a single stop service. Our fully integrated manufacturing facility and experienced staff can recommend the most cost effective method of manufacturing parts and components.
We provide assembled components when necessary as well as our recommendations on high quality, lower cost solutions for complex assemblies and OEM replacement parts or upgrading. Our flexibility enables us to meet the timely manufacturing requirements of our customers.
We work to the Quality Assurance requirements of our customers many of whom are ISO certified. Our fully staffed QA Department includes two Coordinate Measuring Machines, one of which a full CNC operated machine. Our Engineering and Programming Department uses the most modern CAD/CAM equipment and technologies available. Our equipment enables use to 'reverse engineer' components and parts for manufacturing and pricing purposes.
Arvin is an ISO 9001 2000 registered producer of precision machined parts and is registered under the Controlled Goods Registration Program.
